The foundation of the Republic. The Declaration, the Constitution, and the Cyrus Cylinder.
I declare myself a citizen of Persia Republic. I reject the Islamic occupation of my homeland. I stand with Asha (Truth) against Druj (Lies). My ancestors are Cyrus the Great and the noble Persians who built civilization. My future is freedom. I pledge to uphold Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds.
Every citizen signs this declaration upon entry.
Twelve articles. Amendable by two-thirds majority of the Citizen Assembly, except for the inviolable articles.
The Republic stands upon Asha β Truth, Order, Right. Druj β the Lie β has no standing. Every citizen is bound to Humata, Hukhta, Huvarshta: Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds.
No citizen shall be coerced in matters of conscience or faith. The Republic affirms the principle of Cyrus the Great: that peoples and persons keep their own beliefs without compulsion. The Republic opposes any state, foreign or domestic, that imposes religion by force.
Citizenship is by declaration, not by blood, birth, or document. Any person who signs the Declaration of Asha and pledges to uphold the Constitution is a citizen, equal in standing to all others.
No citizen is required to disclose their true name. The protection of identity is a pledge of the community. The citizen key is sufficient proof of standing.
Every citizen has the right to speak in the Square. Speech that incites violence against persons, that defames without truth, or that serves Druj has no place. The Council of Mobeds judges contested cases.
Those killed by the regime are remembered. The Memorial is sacred. Names are read. Candles are lit. No name added without source. No name removed.
The Republic is federated. Each satrapy is autonomous in local matters and bound to the Constitution in common. The Homeland satrapy holds the first seat.
Once each month, a question is put to all citizens. The result binds the Republic in matters within the Assembly's scope. Past votes are archived and may not be hidden.
The Council of Mobeds stewards Asha and the Constitution. Members are chosen from citizens of the rank Mobed. The Council rotates yearly. No member serves consecutively beyond two terms.
The Persian tongue is the inheritance of the Republic. English serves the diaspora. Both stand equal in the Square. The Republic supports those who would learn Persian, including the script of the ancestors.
This Constitution may be amended by the Citizen Assembly with a supermajority of two-thirds. The Cyrus Principle, the protection of anonymity, and the inviolability of the Memorial may not be amended.
The fire is older than the Republic and outlasts every regime. We do not own it; we keep it. Humata. Hukhta. Huvarshta.
539 BCE. Among the earliest charters of human rights.
"I am Cyrus, king of the world, great king, mighty king... When I entered Babylon, I established my seat in the royal palace amidst rejoicing and happiness. My vast army marched into Babylon in peace. I did not allow anyone to terrorize the land of Sumer and Akkad. I kept in view the needs of Babylon and all its sanctuaries... I commanded that none should harm any person, that no house should be destroyed. I left every people free to worship their own god."
This is the principle to which the Republic binds itself. Article 2 drinks from this well.
